It was a sunny day, and I intended to show her the video clip early morning so that she won’t get the news from anyone else who might see it before she does. So, with so many excuses I asked her to come with me and walk across Glorietta 4. In front of an electronic billboard between Rustans and Hotel Intercon. We were in the park watching the e-billboard. Nothing was shown other than the dull and boring commercials. I was embarrassed and outraged, where the heck did my money go? I paid for this, probably spending my lifetime savings!?*. I called Jem, my contact, and she said there was a slight problem and they were doing their best to fix the issue. Of course I made that call discreetly. Lalai asked me who I was talking to and why we’re staring at the billboard. I told her I took part of HP’s commercial and they’re supposed to play that commercial today. I told her I called HP sales organization to report that it wasn’t shown. Hehehe nice one, I think she really bought that story. =).

5PM, after office hours. I asked her to go back in there. I told her that this will only be shown once, and I really just wanted to look if my face looked cool [ whah, deep inside i wana throw up, i just didn't have any other excuses!]. Luckily she’s still in the game, and she was happy that I got so excited to see my face in a public screen. She said it always amazes her everytime I feel excited about something. She held my hand while we walked approaching the screen and when she looked up, she thought she saw someone like her. "Hey that looks like me, hey no, that is me", Her eyes couldn’t move away from the billboard as my marriage proposal video clip was playing. And when the clip showed my picture holding a ring with a caption of "Will You Marry Me?", I quickly took the diamond ring from my pocket, knelt down, showed her the ring and asked her,"My love, will you marry me?". I couldn’t describe her face, as it was smiling while tears were rolling. I don’t know if she was having trouble saying NO or was simply overwhelmed by it. I hugged her tight as she faintly whispered "yes…". I could hear people clapping, and saying Go for it! I was half embarrassed but fully proud of it. Then I thought, if there is something that one shouldn’t be ashamed of, it is in telling the whole world how much you love a person. We sat down while watching it over and over and over again. I couldn’t possibly hire an artist to draw her face at that time, it was a mixture of smile, laughter, awe, tears, unbelief. Even myself could not believe that we are now one step higher than we were before. Not that we don’t expect our relationship to progress, but it’s just like, hey this is it! Whew!

So there goes my lifetime savings, or atleast a huge part of it [hehe not really]. We watched the clip one more time, and went away. It was shown there until 11PM that day and some of my friends were able to see it. It was one of the biggest days in my life. One big step. And I am looking forward to spending the rest of my days with the one I truly love.
